چکیده
The data of inelastic 16O+16O scattering to the lowest 2+ and 3 excited states of 16O have been measured at Elab = 250, 350, 480, 704 and 1120 MeV and analyzed consistently in the distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA), using the semimicroscopic optical potentials and inelastic form factors given by the folding model, to reveal possible refractive structure of the nuclear rainbow that was identified earlier in the elastic 16O+16O scattering channel at the same energies. Given the known transition strengths of the 21 and 3 − 1 states of 16O well determined from the (e, e) data, the DWBA description of the inelastic data over the whole angular range was possible only if the absorption in the exit channels is significantly increased (especially, for the O+O2+ exit channel). Although the refractive pattern of the inelastic 16O+16O scattering was found to be less pronounced compared to that observed in the elastic scattering channel, a clear remnant of the main rainbow maximum could still be seen in the inelastic cross section at Elab = 350− 704 MeV.

Experimental and Monte Carlo studies on the response of CR-39 detectors to Am-Be neutron spectrum
Background: The Poly-Allyl Diglycol Carbonate (PADC) detector is of particular interest for development of a fast neutron dosimeter. Fast neutrons interact with the constituents of the CR-39 detector and produce H, C and O recoils, as well as (n, α) reaction. These neutron- induced charged particles contribute towards the response of CR-39 detectors. Material and Methods: Electrochemical...
متن کاملElastic α - transfer in the elastic scattering of 16 O + 12 C
The elastic scattering 16 O+ 12 C angular distributions at 16 O bombarding energies of 100.0, 115.9 and 124.0 MeV and their optical model description including the α-particle exchange contribution calculated in the Coupled Reaction Channel approach are presented. The angular distributions show not only the usual diffraction pattern but also, at larger angles, intermediate structure of refractiv...
متن کاملAn investigation of neutron direct damages at energies of 0.1-2 MeV on the DNA molecules with atomic structure deduced using Geant4 toolkit
This study proposes a method to estimate RBE of fast neutrons using Monte Carlo simulations. This approach is based on the combination of an atomic resolution DNA geometrical model and Monte Carlo simulations for tracking particles. Atomic positions were extracted from the Protein Data Bank. The GEANT4 code was used for tracking the secondary particles generated by fast neutrons during their in...
متن کاملEnhanced creation of dispersive monolayer phonons in XePt(111) by inelastic helium atom scattering at low energies.
Conditions likely to lead to enhanced inelastic atomic scattering that creates shear horizontal (SH) and longitudinal acoustic (LA) monolayer phonons are identified, specifically examining the inelastic scattering of (4)He atoms by a monolayer solid of XePt(111) at incident energies of 2-25 meV. There is strong inelastic scattering for both dispersive phonon branches (SH and LA) of the monolaye...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effects of Cut-Out Shield on High-Energy Electron Fields Using MAGIC Normoxic Polymer Gel
Introduction The use of cut-outs in electron applicators make changes on output, isodose, and percentage depth dose (PDD) curves. These changes and electron beam dose distribution in the form of three-dimensional (3D) can be measured by gel dosimeters. Materials and Methods Dosimetry was performed with and without a square shield (6×6 cm2 field). The energies were 4, 9, and 16 MeV and phantom w...
